Overview

The Facility Director is a live-in position responsible for the comprehensive management and operations of a chapter facility. This includes oversight of all facility staff (e.g., chefs, housekeepers), coordination and accurate communication of renovations and repairs, running a commercial kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and ensuring compliance with Chapter and facility budgets.

This role requires a high level of professionalism, independence, and confidence, especially in working closely with collegiate members. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and possesses strong communication skills. Success in this position hinges on the ability to establish clear boundaries while fostering a positive and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities

● Coordinate with chapter officers to ensure support of chapter operations and activities

● Act as a collaborator with chapter officers and a positive influence for membership

● Supervise and support facility staff, including kitchen and housekeeping teams

● Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility

● Ensure food safety and efficiency in the operation of a commercial kitchen

● Oversee day-to-day facility operations and long-term maintenance projects

● Manage facility renovations, repairs, and vendor relationships

● Administer and track relevant chapter and facility budgets, including billing and payroll

● Serve in an on-call capacity for emergencies or time-sensitive issues

● Maintain internal project management trackers and organize vendor-related documents

● Perform staff evaluations and implement progressive discipline when needed

Desired Qualifications

● Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and budgets

● Experience supervising staff

● Independence and confidence in decision-making, particularly when working with college-aged members in a live-in environment

● Competency in G Suite, Google Sheets, billing web portals, and general computer skills

● Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote leadership

● Experience processing bills or expenses via online systems

● Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds if necessary

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience working in a collegiate or sorority/fraternity setting

● Background in facility management and operations oversight

● Knowledge of food safety standards and experience in commercial kitchens

● Previous roles requiring on-call availability

● Strong vendor and project management experience

● Familiarity with staff evaluations and performance improvement practices

Salary & Benefits

● Salary starting from $52,500 annually

● Semesterly bonus

● Paid vacation hours

● Cell Phone allowance of $100 per month

● Meals provided at the chapter facility during the academic school year

● Facility Director’s suite includes a living space with a kitchenette, bedroom, private bathroom, and private laundry facilities
